I am the Project Controlling Manager for the LANXESS BTR Project. My job is to support the Project Director in ensuring that the plant is build within the approved budget and on the planned completion date.

I have been very fortunate to have been able to work in various capacities for LANXESS worldwide. I started my career as a Business Planning Advisor in Singapore with Lyondell Chemicals which was acquired by Bayer Polymers in 2000. Subsequently in 2003 I was transferred to Shanghai for 1.5 years.

After the spin-off from Bayer, I was given chance to be posted to LANXESS headquarters in Leverkusen where I worked in the Corporate Development Department from 2004-2006.

From 2006-mid 2008, I was re-posted to Shanghai to be Head of Corporate Development in China. Afterwards I was re-posted back to Singapore to be the Project Controlling Manager for the LANXESS Butyl Rubber Plant.

My experience in both financial controlling and corporate development has given me tremendous exposure to the LANXESS business and the financial policies and strategies of LANXESS.

When I worked in Germany, the biggest gain for me to get a bigger overall picture of LANXESS and I had the chance to develop good working relationships.
It is very important to me that my family comes along when I am based overseas. I am very thankful that my family had the chance to be with me when I worked in Leverkusen and in Shanghai.

I also believe that adaptability is very important and we must always have a fresh mind and be ready to integrate when given the opportunity to work abroad.
