Social Goals

Diversity & Inclusion

With the goal of achieving structured development at LANXESS and utilizing its positive effects for our company and its employees, we established the Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) initiative in 2011, under the patronage of our Board of Management member and Labor Director Dr. Rainier van Roessel. This initiative reflects the great importance of a diverse workforce to our competitiveness in the global market. We aim to increase our innovative strength, performance capabilities and ability to attract and retain promising talents –especially in light of demographic challenges facing various countries.

Our D&I initiative is making a key contribution to reaching our goal of raising the proportion of women in middle and upper management to 20% by 2020. The figure currently stands at around 15.1%. >more

Human rights and Anti-corruption

As we signed the U.N. Global Compact in 2011, we are committed to the established principles of the initiative. These include supporting and respecting the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights and ensuring that we are not complicit in human rights abuses. Also the compact works against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

Labor practices

Our focus on sustainable employee training and development aims to ensure we keep achieving our corporate goals and safeguarding LANXESS’ competitiveness in the long term. Through actively promoting social responsibility, providing attractive jobs in an international environment, offering performance-based market rate compensation and promoting a culture that inspires diversity, leadership and trust, we ensure our employees have access to remarkable career development opportunities.  Our entrepreneurial success is based largely on the performance, innovative strength and commitment of our employees.

Education initiative

The LANXESS Education Initiative has the primary goal of developing support programs for students, teachers, schools and institutes. It attracts well-educated employees to LANXESS, aiming to safeguard growth and added value for the company.

Xact Board of Management’s global safety initiative

LANXESS attaches the highest priority to the safety of all its work processes. Our Xact global safety program is aimed at further raising employee awareness of safety and our capacity to work together to improve safety throughout the company.
