Students of Krefeld present at the "future forum", final event of the LANXESS school workshop "Practice & Vision", their ideas for the water treatment of tomorrow.
The participants in the workshop taking place at LANXESS’ Dormagen site devoted themselves to the subject of water for five days. The aim was to increase the school students' awareness of the importance of conserving (drinking) water.
During the LANXESS water week in Dormagen the participants not only found out important facts about water, they also experienced water treatment first hand. The young scientists conducted laboratory tests in which they filtered salt from tap water with the help of LANXESS ion exchange resins and then determined the loading capacity of a cation exchange resin.

During the five-day school workshops “Practice and Vision” which took place at the three Lower Rhine sites, the senior school students, in this case in Krefeld, developed sustainable ideas for conserving water. Alongside theoretical sessions, a day in the laboratory was also on the agenda.
A total of 15 senior school students experimented with ion exchange resins during the five-day school workshop “Practice and Vision”. The aim was to demineralize water and then determine the loading capacity of the cation exchange resin.
