"Since LANXESS Korea Limited was turned into a trading company, a lot of things have changed in my daily work life. In contrast to the former agency business, the Business Unit Semi-Crystalline Products (SCP) can now manage local inventory and invoicing with the customer. That means we can fulfil various industry demands via a higher value-added service, which will, in return, contribute to higher profitability and stronger business growth.

The change into a trading company was a really interesting process. SCP was the initiator and was fully involved in the entire process. We have clearly defined the whole business process of local invoicing and system requirements - inventory management - that means warehousing and delivering, invoicing to local customers, credit management, and so on. Basically, it is similar to the function that our SCP regional headquarters in Hong Kong is performing now, but certainly on a much smaller scale.

Outside of LANXESS, in my free time, I like playing baseball with my son and mountain climbing with friends. And of course I love to spend time with my wife. Having such a nice lady and such a good son might be two of the most fortunate occurrences in my life so far. He is ten years old and goes to primary school. He is very energetic and wanted to be a baseball player. But recently he gave up on this dream when he found out that he wouldn’t be talented enough in that area. I’m sure he will find something else that fits to his personality."
