LANXESS hosted the first-ever “LANXESS Rubber Day” in India on December 3, 2010 in New Delhi. The event theme was “Driving growth and delivering safety.”

LANXESS Rubber Day in India was the one-day conference addressing the growth trends in the rubber industry in India. Topics for discussion included emerging trends, policy issues, contributions to Indian growth, and other issues connected with the regional market. This is a high-level forum for experts from the worlds of industry, government, consulting and academia.

Last year, the first Rubber Day was held in Germany to commemorate the centenary of the invention of synthetic rubber. Following up on the positive momentum generated by this event, successful Rubber Days were held in China and Brazil. It is our intention to hold an equally successful event here in India, with a forum tailored to the rubber industry of this vital market.

As the world’s largest synthetic rubber manufacturer, LANXESS remains focused on expanding its global rubber production network and raising awareness of its butyl and butadiene rubber products and high quality rubber chemicals. Consequently, LANXESS Rubber Day has become a major networking platform for key players in the rubber sector.

LANXESS Rubber Day aims to foster discussions on both commercial and environmental topics related to the manufacturing and consumption of high-tech synthetic rubber. While this product is an indispensable part of a modern, urbanized and industrialized society, LANXESS understands that collaborative efforts are necessary to sustain future developments.

LANXESS is the global leader in synthetic rubber. In fact, the first synthetic rubber was invented in 1909 in our laboratories. In the century that followed, it has become a key component in tires, hoses, belts, seals and thousands of other applications ranging from shoes and golf balls to solar panels and rocket ships. Today, chemists and engineers at LANXESS remain committed to working closely with customers to develop new uses for this versatile material.
