Cooperation for science education

LANXESS sponsors schools in North Rhine-Westphalia

As part of its education initiative, LANXESS invested around EUR 2.5 million in science education at its German sites between 2008 and 2010. A key part of this commitment is funding for high schools specializing in science. The schools can use the donations to equip their labs, purchase technical equipment such as laptops and projectors, or send exceptionally talented chemistry students on internships and vacation programs. As partners to LANXESS, the schools receive the funds they need to give the upcoming generation of gifted chemists the best possible start.

NEAnderLAB – a high-tech lab for experiments
LANXESS also supports education projects outside schools that are aimed at the next generation of scientists. Examples include NEAnderLab in the Mettmann district.  NEA stands for Naturwissenschaft (science), Erlebnis (experience) and Ausbildung (training). The laboratory of the "Zukunft durch Innovation" (zdi, "future through innovation") initiative  in North Rhine-Westphalia offers students in the 7th grade and above an opportunity to carry out research and experiments based on physical/technical, chemical and biological topics. Attractive opportunities such as these aim to encourage a fascination with science and technology. And this model dovetails perfectly with the goals of the LANXESS education initiative.
