Plastics and Sustainability

Day 4 addresses the topic of sustainability, as a key part of LANXESS's mission statement, the company has formulated concrete goals. Behind this, is the aspiration to achieve an increase in value for our company, our stakeholders and society through our operating activities. One of our larger goals is to be climate-neutral by 2040.
In the seminars you will learn which established solutions are already available, as we illustrate how a focus on greater sustainability is reflected in our work and respective products, helping to bring you further success in this area.

In addition the benefits of our phosphorus based flame retardants Disflamoll® and Reofos® are shown including flame retardant and plasticizing efficiency. Finally our latest developments in Bonding Agents are presented emphasizing their superior performance in coated fabrics.

The journey of Lanxess HPM towards a sustainable Durethan and Pocan portfolio will be highlighted. The sustainability strategy of of Lanxess HPM targets both reduction of product carbon footprints as well as increasing content of recycled raw materials. In the first part of the talk, we will present measures for carbon footprint reduction in our Caprolactam production facility. The second part of the presentation will focus on the usage of recycled feedstocks in our materials, such as glass fibers based on post industrial recycling.
