n-Propylchloroformate
Product Description
n-Propylchloroformate is used in pharmaceutical and fine chemical synthesis as a reactive intermediate for multi step synthetic pathways leading to complex molecules. As a chloroformate reagent, it reacts with a broad range of nucleophiles, including alcohols and amines, to introduce propoxycarbonyl groups and form propyl carbamate and propyl carbonate functionalities. It also enables the synthesis of fine chemical intermediates such as dyes and polymer related materials and can form anhydrides with carboxylic acids as well as carboxylic esters in reactions with polar organometallic reagents and enolates. In addition, the compound is applied as a precursor in catalyst systems for polymerization processes.
