LEWATIT® PH 2061

Product Description

Lewatit® PH 2061 is a biopharmaceutical- and food-grade, macroporous, monodisperse, strongly acidic cation exchange resin based on a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer. 

The optimized narrowed bead size distribution leads to an increased operating capacity compared to ion exchange resins with heterodisperse bead size distribution. It has been optimized for special applications within bioprocessing industries, such as for capture and purification of pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, food and natural extract products.

Lewatit® PH 2061 is manufactured, fully tested and validated in a 1,2-dichloroethane-free production process (also known as ethylene dichloride or EDC).

Lewatit®  PH 2061 is suitable for following applications and beyond:

• Capture and separation of biopharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, supplements from fermentation broth, e.g., alkaloids, antibiotics, amino sugars, amino acids
• Conversion of biopharmaceuticals, e.g. cephalosporin C conversion in Na-form, Na-ascorbate conversion to vitamin C
• Purification of vitamins, e.g., vitamin E/alpha-tocopherol (resin in H-form)
• Softening and decationisation of organic molecules solutions
