LEWATIT® TP 308

Product Description

Lewatit® TP 308 is a weakly acidic, macroporous cation exchange resin with chelating functional groups specially developed for the selective removal of alkaline earth cations from lithium brines. 

The ion exchange resin has excellent ion exchange kinetics, high usable capacity, long cycle time and due to its modified polymer structure and degree of substitution it is particularly suitable for adsorption of alkaline earth and heavy metal cations from dilute lithium brine solutions (less than 2 g/L).

Lewatit® TP 308 is particularly suitable in the following application:

• Fine purification of lithium brine used for the production of pure lithium for the production of lithium ion batteries, by removing high concentrations of impurities > 100 ppm Ca²⁺ and Mg²⁺.
