Product Description
Rhenogran® Sb₂O₃ 80 is a predispersed flame-retardant masterbatch containing 80% antimony trioxide in an elastomer binder. In combination with halogen donors—historically chloroparaffins but increasingly brominated flame retardants (BFRs)—it forms antimony halides during combustion, which quench free radicals and create a protective char layer, offering effective flame suppression in natural and synthetic rubber compounds.
Antimony trioxide serves as a synergist, enabling up to 70% lower usage of BFRs to achieve UL 94 V 0 performance, while also reducing smoke emissions. The dust-free granule form ensures clean dosing and uniform dispersion, ideal for fire-safe rubber applications requiring stringent safety standards.
