External silane donors play an essential role in the polymerization reaction by increasing or modifying the isotacticity of the polypropylene. They steer the molecular weight dispersity of the polymer. The external silane donors convert non-specific sites with lower activity into isospecific sites with higher activity due to steric and electronic effects. They maintain an excellent hydrogen response regarding the adjustability of the molecular weight of the polymer. Where silane donors are used, it is crucial to use low hydride TEA which Lanxess offers as a standard. Available as a stable, industry proven product with long shelf life.

Our range of silane donors for commercial use is supplemented by a number of developmental products and can be supplied neat or in inert solvents. The production of special types beyond standard specifications is possible in certain cases and under a secrecy agreement.
