LANXESS to Showcase Latest Solutions for Personal Care at NYSCC Suppliers’ Day

Pittsburgh, Pa. – May 28, 2025– Global specialty chemicals company LANXESS will exhibit at the NYSCC Suppliers’ Day, North America’s largest tradeshow dedicated to cosmetic product development, taking place in New York City June 3-4, 2025. In booth 1948, the company will present its comprehensive portfolio of high-purity, sustainable ingredients for personal care products which includes preservatives, antimicrobials, multifunctional ingredients and aroma chemicals.

New multifunctional preservative blend

At Suppliers’ Day, LANXESS will introduce its latest product development to the U.S. market: Neolone^® PH Max. This new product is an innovative blend of the preservative phenoxyethanol and pelargonic acid – a naturally derived multifunctional ingredient sourced from sunflower oil – designed to maximize the efficiency of phenoxyethanol. Neolone^® PH Max offers superior broad spectrum performance against bacteria and fungi, while boosting the antimicrobial effectiveness of phenoxyethanol compared to benchmark formulations at equivalent dosing levels. It also serves as a liquid drop-in solution, contributing chelating and antioxidant attributes.

Growing Scopeblue® portfolio

LANXESS continues to expand its Scopeblue^® portfolio. The company’s Scopeblue^® brand label identifies its own products with a CO₂ footprint at least 50 percent lower than that of conventional products, or which consist of at least 50 percent recycled or biobased raw materials.

Purox^® S Scopeblue^® is the climate-friendlier alternative to the conventional nature-identical and readily biodegradable Purox^® S sodium benzoate. It safely and effectively inhibits microbial growth in personal care products and cosmetics up to a pH of 6.5. Purox^® S Scopeblue^® is manufactured using green energy and renewable raw materials, making the product nearly climate-neutral, according to the mass balance approach.

LANXESS also offers its benzoic acid Purox^® B Food/Pharma, and benzyl alcohol Purox^® BA as Scopeblue variants with significantly improved CO₂ footprints. As with all Scopeblue products, no reformulation is needed when switching to the sustainable versions, since they are chemically identical to their standard counterparts. They offer an excellent solution for formulators wanting to take advantage of the reliable effects of these trusted products and reduce the overall product carbon footprint of their product formulations.

LANXESS will also present its aroma chemicals portfolio of floral, earthy, spicy and fruity notes with up to 99.9% purity for perfumes and personal care products under the trusted Kalama^® and Purolan^® brands.

With all of its worldwide production sites for these products ISCC Plus-certified using the mass balance approach, LANXESS is able to offer Scopeblue alternatives for its full aroma chemicals portfolio.
