SCORCHGUARD O

Scorchguard® O is a multifunctional vulcanization activator and acid acceptor designed for halogenated elastomers such as CR, CIIR, CSM, and CM. It consists of activated magnesium oxide and proprietary magnesium compounds, pre-dispersed in a convenient bar form using organic binders. The binder system protects MgO from moisture, preventing conversion to inactive Mg(OH)₂, and ensures consistent performance. Its formulation promotes fast, uniform dispersion and high processing safety for calendering, extrusion, and molding operations.

Scorchguard® O reduces mixing time and energy consumption, prevents sticking to mixing equipment, and maintains the physical properties of the compound. In combination with zinc oxide, Scorchguard® O provides excellent scorch protection and acid absorption.
