Bluish-black pigment with highest tinting strength

Black with a bluish undertone is a very popular color especially in architectural coatings. Our Bayferrox® 360 iron oxide provides a unique combination. With this black pigment, coating formulations can be adjusted towards a very bluish black color shade.

LANXESS

Bayferrox® 360 pigments are manufactured via a special manufacturing process that ensures the production of pigments with a uniform spherical crystal shape. Due to the very narrow particle size distribution Bayferrox® 360 develops a bluish color in full shade and reduction. At the same time, its tinting strength exceeds other market alternatives by up to 200%.

Bayferrox® 360 also demonstrates clear strengths in processing in coatings systems. For example, its shear thinning effect is noticeably stronger compared to regular black iron oxides of similar mean particle size. As a consequence, BFX 360 shows a continuous viscosity flow even at high pigment loadings of more than 70% leading to highest level of flexibility in the formulation of pigment concentrates. The viscosity can be selectively controlled according to the customer specific formulations of pigment concentrates.
