Specialty additive package for the formulation of demulsifying slideway oils for machine tools
Additin® M 97.003 N provides low friction and reduced stick-slip at low feed rates and high pressures, low wear and good protection against seizures and scuffing, excellent corrosion protection, good demulsibiliy with emulsions and high oxidation stability. The recommended treat rate for horizontal slideways is 1.8% Additin® M 97.003 N in ISO VG 68 mineral oil. For vertical slideways a tackifyer can be added to improve the adhesive properties and avoid the slideway oil from beeing sqeezed out of the lubricant gap even at high pressures. The tackifying properties of vertical slideways could be improved by suitable polymers. Additin® M 97.003 N is compatible with different types of polymers, that are used as tackifiers. The recommended dosage of the additional tackifier is 0.2-0.5%.
