The LANXESS Brand

A "global player" in specialty chemicals - that's LANXESS.

The company's roots go back to 1863, the year Bayer AG was founded. 141 years later - in 2004 - the majority of the chemicals business and about one third of the plastics activities were spun-off in the course of a reorganization of Bayer AG and transferred to the newly established LANXESS AG and its subsidiaries. 

The name LANXESS - an artificial word derived from the French "lancer" "to move forward" and the English word "success" – both aptly describe the development of the Group.

Today we are shaping the future of the chemical industry through innovative products, sustainable solutions and our high level of technical expertise.

We deliver quality at all levels - with excellent products, responsible employees and decisive leadership, we are continuing to expand our competitive position in the global chemical industry.

The claim "Energizing Chemistry" embodies LANXESS's philosophy: Our view of the entire industry, but also our self-image: to be fast, agile, and resistant. Concentration on the essentials. Always continuously improving. For our customers, employees, the environment and society as a whole.
