Product Description

Lewatit® K 1461 black is a strongly acidic, gel-type, polymer-based resin, in spherical bead form, with sulfonic acid groups. Its beads are of a uniform size, which results in optimal packing and low pressure drops across the bed. Reaction parameters can be maintained within tight tolerances, where this resin is used for processing liquid organic media. lt has a medium degree of crosslinking and good mechanical stability.
Lewatit® K 1461 black is especially suitable for the following applications:

  • Condensations and esterifications of small polar molecules
  • Hydrolysis of ethers and esters
  • Cation and heavy metal removal from organic liquids
  • Conversion of salts into the respective free acids
