LEWATIT® PH 7061

Product Description

Lewatit® PH 7061 is a biopharmaceutical- and food-grade, macroporous, monodisperse, strongly basic (type I) anion exchange resin based on a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer. 

It has been optimized for special applications within bioprocessing industries, such as for capture and purification of pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, food and natural extract products. The macroporous structure ensures very good adsorption of organic substances, e.g., colorants, and partial adsorption of organic acids and mineral acids. The substances are easy to be desorbed by regeneration with caustic soda solution (OH- form) or alkalized brine solution (Cl- form).

In its hydroxide form, Lewatit® PH 7061 is suitable for the removal of acid and simultaneous decolorization of solutions of organic molecules. In its chloride form, Lewatit®  PH 7061 is suitable for the purification of bioprocessing solutions, e.g. by decolorization.

Lewatit® PH 7061 is suitable for following applications and beyond:

• Decolorization of bioprocessing solutions
• Neutralization (acid removal) of bioprocessing and organic molecules solutions (hydroxide form)
• Purification of antibiotics, vitamins, enzymes from fermentation broth, e.g., cephalosporin, vitamin B1, vitamin E/alpha-tocopherol, hyaluronic acid
• Conversion of biopharmaceuticals, e.g. streptomycin sulfate conversion
