1892
Set-up of an agency, through J. Vernon, Bombay. Representation throughout India.
1896
Founded Farbenfabriken Bayer & Co. Ltd., former Vernon agency.
1897
Sales and distribution of Alizarin pigments through Kaba Gopaldas & Co.
1967
Started Bayer Thane site.
1995
Board member Dr. Walter Wenninger inaugurated the "Bayer House" in India.
1997
After purchase of majority shares of the Indian ABS Industries Ltd., Bayer for the first time disposed off own plastics production in India.
2004
LANXESS India Private Limited was incorporated on 20th February in the name and style of Bayer Rubber Chemicals Private Limited. The name of the company was changed to LANXESS India Private Limited effective 30th June.
2005
Bayer ABS Limited renamed as LANXESS ABS Limited in April.
2007
LANXESS announced plans to build new ion exchange resin plant for the Liquid Purification Technologies business unit in Jhagadia, Gujarat.
2008
LANXESS announced cessation of Rubber Chemicals plant in Thane and its relocation to Jhagadia, Gujarat.
2009
Relocation of technical centre to new location in Thane.
LANXESS completed the acquisition of the chemical businesses and production assets of Indian company Gwalior Chemical Industries Ltd.
2010
Commenced production at the Rubber Chemicals plant in Jhagadia in March 2010.
Commenced operations at the new ion exchange resin plant of the Liquid Purification Technologies business unit.
Production of steam and electricity commenced at the cogeneration plants at Nagda, Madhya Pradesh and Jhagadia, Gujarat.
2011
Started construction for new compounding facility for High Performance Materials plant in Jhagadia, Gujarat.
Relocated assets of manufacturing facility of Material Protection Products to Jhagadia.
Relocated assets of manufacturing facility of Rhein Chemie to Jhagadia.
2012
Inaugurated Rhein Chemie and Material Protection Products production facilities at Jhagadia.
LANXESS India moved to a new address in Thane.
Inaugurated High Performance Materials production facility at Jhagadia.
Inaugurated the 'Waste water post treatment plant' at its site in Nagda.
2014
LANXESS relocated the assets of its erstwhile LANXESS Rubber Chemicals. Technical Centre in Thane to the Tech Centre of its leading distributor Ram Charan at Chennai to serve rubber customers across the country.
2015
LANXESS and Saudi Aramco plans to establish a joint venture for synthetic rubber.
LANXESS and Saudi Aramco subsidiary, Aramco Overseas Company, will each hold a 50 percent interest in the joint venture, with annual sales of approximately three billion Euro in 2014.
2016
LANXESS and Saudi Aramco completed joint venture deal. ARLANXEO, the new joint venture, launched on April 1, 2016 as planned.
LANXESS India’s new Chennai office inaugurated on December 26, 2016.
2017
LANXESS successfully completed acquisition of Chemtura.
LANXESS India moves to a new office in Delhi.
2018
LANXESS completed sale of ARLANXEO to Saudi Aramco.
2019
Transportation Management Center inaugurated at Chennai tolling center.
Inaugurated Urethane Systems application development center in India.
2020
LANXESS sold organic leather chemicals business to TFL.
2021
LANXESS India certified as a Great Place to Work® company.
LANXESS completed acquisition of Emerald Kalama Chemical.
Virtual Inauguration of BU MPP Microbiology Laboratory at LANXESS India.
2022
LANXESS completed acquisition of IFF’s microbial control business
LANXESS and Advent International established a leading global joint venture for high-performance engineering polymers.
