Shelf life & Packaging
Shelf-Life is defined as the period of time during which a material may be stored and remains suitable for use. Many products can be retested beyond this period to determine potential extension of this life.
- Conformance can be tested within three (3) months prior to the “TEST DATE” in order to reaffirm conformance with the specification for an additional shelf-life term.
- The testing cycle can continue indefinitely until an individual specification requirement fails or the container no longer meets the intended use.
- More information regarding Type II shelf life can be found in MIL-STD-290
Common shelf life ranges are:
Commercial: 3 - 6 years
NATO: 2-4 years
Unless otherwise noted, Royco® US Military shelf life is 24 months.
The shelf life varies per product. Please check out your products shelf life.
