Product Description
ADDITIN® RC 5800 is a highly effective liquid yellow metal deactivator designed to protect copper, cobalt, nickel and their alloys from corrosion in water-based fluid systems. Based on the sodium salt of tolyltriazole, it forms a thin, durable and virtually colorless protective film on metal surfaces, helping to maintain system performance and extend fluid service life.
By preventing the formation and accumulation of dissolved copper ions, ADDITIN® RC 5800 helps reduce metal-catalyzed oxidation and degradation processes. This not only protects yellow metals but can also help prevent corrosion issues on other metals within mixed-metal systems.

Formulation Advantages
ADDITIN® RC 5800 can be combined with commonly used corrosion inhibitors, including benzoates, silicates, nitrites, molybdates, phosphates and organic phosphorus compounds, to enhance overall corrosion protection performance. Its liquid form simplifies storage, handling and incorporation into formulations. In many applications, it can be used as an alternative to solid tolyltriazole products.
