At the Medica 2026 medical trade fair, taking place November 16–19, LANXESS will present its Rely+On product portfolio for infection prevention in the healthcare sector, as well as its selection of active ingredients for the formulation of disinfectants.
The highlight of the exhibition will be the premiere of Rely+On Medero, a new broad-spectrum disinfectant. It is highly effective against bacteria, mycobacteria, fungi, bacterial spores, viruses, and yeasts. It works reliably within minutes, even against stubborn biofilms of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The disinfectant’s chemistry is based on the active oxygen Potassium Monopersulfate (Oxone) as well as in-situ generated active chlorine. As a result, it does not induce acquired resistance—not even in MRSA.
Disinfectant for medical devices and hard surfaces
Rely+On Medero is suitable for devices classified as non-invasive medical devices, as well as for hard surfaces in medical practices and hospitals, including intensive care units and isolation rooms. Rely+On Medero is approved as a disinfectant for medical devices and thus falls under Class IIa of the European Union’s Medical Devices Regulation. For the disinfection of non-medical hard surfaces, Rely+On Medero is authorised as Product Type II under the Biocidal Products Regulation.
Rely+On product portfolio against antibiotic resistance
With the Rely+On product portfolio, LANXESS is committed to scientifically sound disinfection solutions in the fight against antibiotic resistance. These include Rely+On Virkon, a well-established broad-spectrum disinfectant for hospitals, medical laboratories, and public health facilities, as well as Rely+On PeraSafe, a product for the safe and rapid decontamination of medical instruments.
Both products comply with international standards and have proven their effectiveness in efficacy tests conducted in accordance with European standards. Rely+On has proven to be effective in emergency scenarios such as the spread of SARS-CoV-2, avian influenza, noroviruses, and other pathogens.

LANXESS has specifically designed the Rely+On products to meet the ever-changing requirements of the healthcare sector and the public sector. Healthcare facilities use Rely+On solutions for emergency prevention as well as to contain potential outbreaks of infection.
