Specialties
The LANXESS portfolio of phosphorus specialties includes products which are used as liquid-liquid metal extractants, antifoam agents, solvents, solvent substitutes, viscosity depressants, processing aids as well as catalysts for chemical synthesis.
Products: Baysolvex®, tri- and dialkyl phosphates, Disflamoll®
Intermediates
LANXESS produces intermediates based on phosphorus like phosphorus chlorides, phosphites, phosphorus oxides and polyphosphoric acids. These are used as basic building blocks and phosphorylating agents in the production of phosphorus compounds. The production of agrochemicals and flame retardants accounts for the major part of our synthesis chemicals consumption.
Other important functions of phosphorus chlorides are chlorination and oxidation of chemical compounds. With phosphorus oxides, their water-removing effect is an important function. They are also the basis of many surface-active compounds (surfactants).

Frequently Asked Questions
Here we answer the most frequently asked question regarding Phosphorus Specialties & Intermediates. For more detailed inquiries, please contact our technical representatives (contact details below)Trialkyl phosphates are the esters of phosphoric acid that are formed with alcohols. These organic compounds have remarkable properties. When introduced into polymers, they reduce their flammability. The pure products have pronounced solvent properties, which is why they play a role in numerous chemical processes, such as the production of hydrogen peroxide.
