For Europe, in accordance with the Cosmetic Products Regulation, Neolone BioG Preservative can be used as a preservative in concentrations of up to 2.0% (corresponds to 0.4% Ethyl Lauroyl Arginate HCl) for leave-on and rinse-off products and up to 0.75% (corresponds to 0.15% Ethyl Lauroyl Arginate HCl) for mouthwashes except for children under 10 years of age. It is not to be used in lip products, oral products (other than mouthwashes) and spray products.
Neolone BioG Preservative is stable in a pH range of 3 to 6.
Neolone BioG Preservative is compatible to all kind of non-ionic gum thickeners, cationic thickeners, non-ionic and cationic surfactants, active ingredients such as sodium hyaluronate, sodium lactate, betaine and preservatives like sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate. Furthermore, it can be combined with multifunctionals, such as 1,2-hexanediol, hydroxyacetophenone or glyceryl caprylate.
Due to its cationic structure, Neolone BioG Preservative can lose activity in systems with a high content of anionic surfactants, such as sodium laureth or lauryl sulfate, or anionic thickeners, such as xanthan gum, carboxymethyl cellulose or polyacrylic acid based polymers.
