Community Advisory Panel in Elmira

In 2020, LANXESS revamped its Elmira Community Advisory Panel (CAP), which is made up of nearby residents, community leaders and other local stakeholders. Led by a professional facilitator, the group meets quarterly to have an open dialogue about the facility and its operations, addressing community questions and concerns, and serves as a forum to share ideas on ways to reduce impacts, improve operations and become a better corporate citizen.

LANXESS is also an active participant within the Township of Woolwich Community Awareness and Emergency Response (CAER) group, which is a partnership between industry and government aimed at promoting community safety and reducing operational risks to health, safety and the environment within the region. The CAER group provides community education, hosts facility tours and educational events, and is an effective response system in the event of an emergency.
