REACH: a comprehensive set of rules governing nearly all chemicals
The REACH regulation issued by the European Union (EU) comprises the registration, evaluation, authorization and restrictions of chemicals. REACH governs all parties involved in the supply chain – producers and processors, traders to end users of chemicals. The REACH regulation applies to nearly all chemicals, covering both individual substances and mixtures. Whether or not the chemicals have hazardous properties is irrelevant in this instance. Chemical products are in general only affected by REACH if they release substances, contain chemicals of very high concern respectively are substances regulated by delegated legal acts.
