In the treatment of drinking and waste water, ion exchange resins benefit from their unique ability to selectively bind ions such as iron, manganese, arsenic, and lead. Even groundwater can be treated efficiently in this way, in which detrimental constituents such as chromate, nitrate, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), surfactants, and perchlorate are bound to ion exchangers.

HANS-JÜRGEN WEDEMEYER, TECHNICAL MARKETING MANAGER
Business Unit: Liquid Purification Technologies
One of the main applications for ion exchange resins is to treat water in power plants. For the production of boiler feed water and to clean obtained condensate from impurities, different ion exchange resin types and applications are used. In this webinar we will give an overview of important quality points and possible applications as well as some basic info about the use of ion exchange resins in industrial water treatment.

New Mobility
DR. WOLFGANG EBENBECK, SENIOR NEW MOBILITY EXPERT ELECTROMOBILITY & CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Europe is facing a boom in battery cell production for electric cars. According to transport experts, 18 gigafactories for lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 566 gigawatt hours are currently under construction or planned in Europe for 2030. However, there is still a lack of sufficient local production capacity in the upstream value chain for battery materials.
The webinar will highlight various LANXESS emobility solutions and outline LXS' contribution to build up a sustainable supply chain for battery materials in EU.

DR. LARS MAY, HEAD OF APPLICATION TECHNOLOGY SCREEN AND PLASTICS
Business Unit: Polymer Additives
Sustainability issues can be tackled using MACROLEX® dyes, high-tech soluble dyes for brillant colors in plastic. The highly advantageous properties and extremely reliable high-class quality of all MACROLEX® dyes predestine them for numerous applications – automotive, food packaging, toys, and many more. Therefore, MACROLEX® dyes are promising candidates for applications in New Mobility. For this purpose orange colored high voltage components are desired predominantly. Our new MACROLEX® orange dye meets the upcoming demanding requirements perfectly: e.g. brilliant color and very high thermal stability in polyamide.

JULIAN HASPEL, HEAD OF E-POWERTRAIN GROUP
Business Unit: High Performance Materials
The shift towards battery electric vehicles offers new opportunities for engineering plastics provided by LANXESS’ business unit High Performance Materials. The presentation will share insights into new requirements coming along with new technologies, e.g. electrified powertrain or charging infrastructure. Examples will be given how we overcome technical hurdles by smart product and application development in cooperation with our customers.
